Good EARLY Morning Nelson County! I want to apologize for the lack of posting recently. We will get back on things beginning today. There are a couple things I want to announce to everyone. NEW ASSISTANT ADMIN: A few months ago, we added Lieutenant Chris Clayton to the page as an admin to assist Lieutenant Derek Kidd with keeping things updated. Today, we are adding Firefighter Jason Braunstein to the list of admins on this page. (SURPRISE JASON!!! Took long enough, huh?) The Admins will use signatures at the end of their posts as follows: Lieutenant Derek Kidd - LT 14 Lieutenant Chris Clayton - LT 16 Firefighter Jason Braunstein - FF 01 MESSAGES: As of today, the private message function has been enabled for the page. If you have a question, complaint or concern that you would not want everyone that comes to this page to see, just message us. One of the admins will get to you as soon as possible. SMOKE ALARMS: We announced that the department received a grant from The Walmart Foundation and Madison Heights Walmart several months ago. We will be getting this program up and running around the end of August, just in time for the Fall/Winter Heating Season. More to come on this program in the following weeks! CONTINUED INFORMATION: We will continue to post events for non-profit organziations within Nelson County and our surrounding counties. We are all about helping our brother and sister agencies. We will also restart the weather posting and fire danger postings each morning at 6am (instead of 5am.) We will do our best to keep everyone updated on Weather Advisories, Watches and Warnings when possible.
