A new high in the Great Australian Bight will strengthen during the remainder of this week, reinforcing the ridge. A surface trough over southeastern Queensland will shift offshore during Wednesday morning. Forecast for the rest of Tuesday Isolated showers about the east coast and adjacent eastern interior areas. The chance of thunderstorms in the southeast. Fine and mostly clear elsewhere. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, tending northeast to southeasterly in the far southeast. Winds fresh at times about the tropical coast. Wednesday 4 June Early morning fog areas in the east. Isolated showers about the east coast and adjacent eastern interior areas. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, tending fresh to strong in the far north. Thursday 5 June The high pressure system will shift further east of New Zealand as the new high intensifies over southeastern Australia. The high will direct a south to southeasterly flow across the state, with isolated showers about the east coast, particularly the exposed sections. Fine and sunny over the central and western districts. Friday 6 June The high will remain slow moving over southeastern Australia, continuing to direct a south to southeasterly flow across the state.
