A broad area of low pressure will remain over central Australia over the next few days, and a surface trough should remain slow moving over the southern interior of Queensland. A ridge will develop along the southern and central east coast on Thursday with milder southeast winds extending to the southeast of the state. Forecast for the rest of Tuesday Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms in a band from the western districts, across the central interior and into the southeast of the state. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the northern reaches of the Peninsula district. Fine and mostly clear over the states far eastern districts. Light to moderate northeast to northwest winds over most of the state, with fresh northeast winds about the southeast coast. Moderate southwest to southeast winds over the far south of the state. Wednesday 22 January Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the western districts, central west and southern interior, possibly reaching the far southeastern districts late in the day.
