Good Evening Mississippi! Even with the cloudless, blue skies, - TopicsExpress

Good Evening Mississippi! Even with the cloudless, blue skies, rivers continue to rise. The Pearl River is still expected to rise more than a foot over the next 72 hours before cresting at 35.5 feet by Friday. Water levels on the Pearl will not start to go down until late Saturday. The good news is that we wont be seeing any more fresh rain until late Sunday and Monday. Temperatures are also on the rise as high pressure starts to move off to our east. Well see temps in the mid to upper-70s both tomorrow and Friday and near 80° both Saturday and Sunday. A strong cold front will begin to dive our way late Sunday and Monday, bringing with it a good chance for thunderstorms and more heavy rain, possibly several additional inches across the state. Behind those storms, temperatures will plummet, back into the 50s by Tuesday afternoon and into the upper-30s by Wednesday morning! Warmer temperatures look to return again by late next week. -Brad Maushart WJTV
