Good Evening.... Tomorrow...the big day is here. If I had to name one of my favorite programs we do at the Brimfield Police Department, it would be our Back-to-School Shop With a Cop day. Tomorrow morning at 08:00, we will be taking nearly 100 kids from the Field School District to Marshalls in the Cascades Shopping Center. Each child will be buying brand new clothing, including pants, shirts, socks and shoes, for the return to school. This program means the world to me, personally. I have told many of you...I was that child growing up. So, while we often hear that police have specific roles and shopping with kids isnt in that description...Tomorrow and most other days, I happily tell those types to take a hike. We would like to thank ALL of you who donated for this program. Last year we took over 80 kids...and this year we are taking more. A special thank-you and lots of love to cousin Ginger....who sent us a $5,000.00 check for the day of shopping!!! Ginger....we love you and thank you. We cannot wait to take those kids shopping. I will definitely have trouble sleeping tonight....Chief Oliver.
