Good Friday Morning. Here are todays Fast 5 Headlines! 1. Icy-snow covered roads made for a very slick drive yesterday. City police say there were 8 crashes around town in just a 2 hour period. As well, there were 2 multi-vehicle crashes on the same overpass...Inkster and the Perimeter. 2. Put the cellphones away ! Thats the message from City Police after a crackdown yesterday saw them ticket 50 people in just 3 hours. Cops say cell use is outta control and thats why they have launched a month long campaign which targets distracted drivers. 3. Theres a baby monitor recall to tell ya about this morning. The device is Angelcare Movement and Sound monitors. The recall is a result of 2 deaths and 2 other incidents where babies got tangled up in the monitors cords. 4. Time to pay up !! Yesterday, a jury in California added 290 million to the damages Samsung owes Apple....this for copying some key iPhone and iPad features. That now means Samsung is on the hook for a total of 930 million dollars. The company does say, they plan on appealing that verdict. 5. Finally today....gonna be a big weekend at the box office. The 2nd instalment in The Hunger Games series...Catching Fire hits theatres. Critics are loving this film and expect it to bring in some record breaking numbers.
