Good Friday Morning from the Many Police Department. It’s been a relatively quiet week for the MPD. Several investigations are continuing and some of the calls include: A theft was reported on Highland Ave, near Crittenden’s Garage where several stored vehicles were broken into and radios removed. This is one of several break-ins that we have experienced in this neighborhood recently. We are asking anyone living around the Sabine Medical Center area to pay close attention to their property and be watchful of any unusual activity and please contact the MPD if you observe anything that may be connected to these thefts. These thefts include mostly items taken from autos, but also construction items. Other incidents includes a theft of an I pad from a vehicle while being washed on Fisher Road, a home being vandalized by being egged on North Robinson, a gas theft report from a resident on Sycamore Street, a theft from a local dollar store, suspicious persons at the old Horton Lumber Company, a report of a missing vehicle that turned out be to a joy ride by the teenage daughter, an animal call on Cheebie Street, a disturbance at Wal-Mart, several domestic calls and the usual calls for unlocking autos, activated alarms and medical checks. The Chief and Assistant Chief are attending the annual Louisiana Chief of Police Conference in Lafayette. The Chiefs are required to attend a certain number of classes each year and the three day event provides the opportunity for these requirements to be met. Be safe and please buckle-up.
