Good Monday morning everyone. Well, today may start the new work week for everyone but for Lisa and I we will be taking her son to the Grand Canyon today since he is in town visiting from North Carolina. It will feel quite blustery there at the Grand Canyon today with highs only reaching the lower 40s and a strong Easterly wind around 10-20 mph making it feel like -3° at times with the wind chill. Here is your Monday National outlook for Monday November 17, 2014. There is a slight risk of severe storms for parts of the Southeastern United States. This includes parts of the Florida Panhandle and Peninsula, Southeastern Alabama, portions of Georgia, South Carolina and Southeastern North Carolina. The risk include a few tornadoes and damaging wind gusts. All this is due to a strong cold front which move through the region today. It will converge with an already moist and unstable atmosphere. Please stay very weather aware and make sure you have a way to receive important weather alerts. As for the rest of the nation, look for heavy snow to continue for parts of the Great Lakes with snow expected all the way South into Mississippi and Tennessee Valleys. Showers and storms are likely across the entire East Coast with a wintry mix expected along parts of the Northeast. I hope everyone has a blessed and wonderful day and week ahead. #ncwx #scwx ~Pete
