Good Morning- Hope all are well, secure, and happy. I have made the final move to give up this car but the "repo" man is slow to call and my insurance is out (10/7). Now the challenge -can I survive without a car. After 50 years of depending upon such a luxury I will have to rely on other options and there are other options out there some more expensive than others. (Friends, cabs, Hudson Valley Home Matters a group that will provide rides to appointments and run errands- I am going to sign a trial membership today for three months and will get more info. about other possibilities too, Dial a Ride loop bus which does door to door for two dollars. Also have two supermarkets which deliver at a small fee. My biggest fear is "cabin fever". Guess I will have to start inviting people in for lunch or visits. I am certain with an open mind it will work out or motivate my savings to get a car that has no lien and insurance does not require comp and collision. Overall it has been a financial burden and for the amount of driving that I currently do it is not cost effective.
