Good Morning. Are you willing to obey the commands of the Lord or - TopicsExpress

Good Morning. Are you willing to obey the commands of the Lord or the instructions of church Leaders? As Jesus sits in the synagogue on the Sabbath day he is confronted by the church leaders about an aspect of His ministry. You see my friend, while Jesus was on the earth, it was His custom to heal the sick, the brokenhearted and to feed the hungry not only with physical food but spiritual food. While in the sanctuary in this particular Sabbath day there was a man who needed to experience the healing touch of the Saviour. But the church leaders did not want this kind of action to take place on the Sabbath because to them this was breaking the laws of Moses. Jesus understanding the need to do go on the Sabbath asked these leaders a question which they refused to answer. Clearly the healing a sick person was doing “good” on the Sabbath. Mark 3:5 Jesus shows His response. The word of the Lord said, “And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.” Here we see a man who desperately needed help but he was placed in a between the view of two very influential people. Should he listen to the voice of the Saviour or the voice of the church leaders? Here is a very important lesson for us. Unless we are willing to stretch forth our hands on the command of God we will never receive the restoration that our soul requires. This man was willing to obey and as a result He was restores. Are you willing to obey the command of the Lord even when the church leaders say otherwise? I pray that we will continue to allow the Holy Spirit to help us to obey the commands of the Lord no matter what the situation or circumstances.
