Good Morning FB Family and Happy New Year, Chinese New Year that is. On yesterday I had the honor of attending and representing myself, Blakk Pyramid Entertainment and the Honorable Mr. Siva Yam at the third annual Beverly Hills Conference and Visitors Bureau Chinese New Year celebration at Rodeo/Dayton in Beverly Hills, CA. I would say it was a successful outing. I presented a letter of congratulations and well wishes to the Beverly Hills Conference and Visitors Bureau for Happy and Prosperous new Year of the Wooden Horse from Mr. Siva Yam, President of the U.S.-China Chamber of Commerce. Julie Wagner received Mr. Yams salutations with smiles and graciousness. Julie Wagner, Chief Executive Officer BHCVB, Events like these strengthen our reputation as a leading global travel destination. and Mary Dehoyos, Senior Director Business Development BHCVB, in charge of the talent for the days event and a host of Beverly Hills councilmembers, volunteers and attendees helped to make it the best celebration so far, according to the Vice-Mayor Lili Bosse. The event was hosted by two entertainment celebrities, and I will amend this post once I find out thier names. I actually spoke with one of the hosts who also sang during the cermonies. There was a traditional Chinese dress fashion demonstration, drum core, martial arts presentation, the Man of Many faces, ribbon dancers, acrobats, live entertainment and of course the famous Dragon dance and Parade. To top it off, instead of using firecrackers, for safety, the entire Beverly Hills Council was invited on stage at the end of the entertainment and presentations and given pins to pop a string of balloons. There was a reception before and after on the Luis Vitton terrace overlooking the festivities. On display during the month of February is a life-size horse sculpture by celebrated American artist Deborah Butterfield located at the corner of Rodeo/Dayton. It is absolutely breathtaking. I want to shout out to some of those I met; Candace Smith of the San Marino Tribune, she and I shared a moment of the spirit of the evening. Lori Posner, who sat behind me during the celebration, President and Founder of yes. DESIGN GROUP, who did all the graphics for this years ceremonies. Stephen Li of Century Commercial, and his beautiful wife, who have just arrived in the U.S. from Beijing, China a scant 6 months. Representing press was Jennifer Liu, Executive Chief Editor of the Sing Tao Newspapers, Los Angeles Ltd. Arthur Peng, Vice Chairman & Secretary General of North America Chinese Writers Association, Los Angeles. Clifton Smith, Jr., Publisher for the Beverly Hills Courier. Dr. RanLi of Beijing Film academy and so many others. Yes indeed, this is a good year. The year of the Wooden Horse spans from January 31, 2014 and will reign through February 18, 2015.
