Good Morning FB Friends! Today is Day 20 of our 25 Songs of Christmas and we spotlight the only Broadway Song on our countdown. A PLACE CALLED HOME by A CHRISTMAS CAROL: The Musical -1994 (Music by Allen Menken & Lyrics by Lynn Ahrens) This lovely Christmas song was written by a Broadway powerhouse team that has Oscar & Tony wins between them. When Menken and Ahrens decided to write a musical adaption to Charles Dickens 1843 Christmas Carol, they didnt realize what a huge New York institution theyve created. The show made its debut at the Paramount Theatre at Madison Square Garden and was directed by the Late Mike Ockrent and choreographed by his wife Susan Stroman who will have huge success directing The Producers in 2001. The show would last for 9 years and everyone from Tim Curry to Roger Daltry has performed Scrooge during its successful run.
