Good Morning FB Friends and Family! What am awesome God we serve! Yesterday we discussed our critical nature, and now that we can answer no to that one, lets discuss: Am I jealous or do I feel threatened? The enemy loves to come in and push our buttons through jealousy. Read 1 Corinthians 3:1-3 - Jealousy and quarreling among you - are you not worldly? OUCH! We are not mere men and women when we are in Christ! The Holy Spirit of the living God dwells within us yall! We are not like the unredeemed! We do not have to sink to the worldly common denomination of jealous and covetousness and greed. We may be simple fragile jars of clay, but we contain the all-surpassing power of the living Lord Jesus Christ within us! Amen! The only One who can handle jealous without sin is God! Although this is not a quality we typically associate with God, Scripture repeatedly states that He is indeed a Jealous God! This is right for Him to be so, because He alone deserves all the praise, all honor, and all respect. His jealously is sourced out of truth and righteousness. Ours is sourced of pride and distrust. YUP! 2 Corinthians 11:2 says, I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. What do you think Paul meant by that? Paul was anxious that the churchs love should be for Christ alone! So here is my question - Are you jealous for someone or of someone? There is a difference! When we are jealous of someone, we see that person as a threat and our hearts dont want the best for them. On the flip side, when we are jealous for someone - we want so much for them. Think of it like this - your children - you want only the best and therefore we ensure that they are taken care of and do not miss opportunities. The motives move from personal pride to concern and care for the other person. Here is the best part - for the church - being jealous for others creates unity! Amen! In unity we are looking out for the needs of others as well as our own. Read Psalm 133. Unity is important - makes the church a positive example to the world and draws them in; helps us to cooperate as a body of believers as God meant us to; and renews and revitalizes ministry! Read Ephesians 4:1-7. Complete humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love - bond of peace. What an awesome privilege to be called a child of the One true King! Believe me - people are watching you and they determine their belief in God by the way you act - and represent your Father in heaven. Think long and hard about it - and ask God to reveal to you anyone that may be jealous of - and ask him to make you jealous for them! It is difficult to be angry, upset, or jealous of someone you pray intensely for and yall get this today = the benefit for the body of Christ cannot be explained in words when you choose to be jealous for - instead of jealous of. Amen! Father, thank You! I am in awe of Your wisdom - love - and grace everyday! I love You Daddy! Have a blessed day! #awakeningfamily
