Good Morning Facebook Family and Friends...† A Scorching Wind † When the sun rose, God provided a scorching east wind, and the sun blazed on Jonah’s head so that he grew faint. He wanted to die, and said, It would be better for me to die than to live. But God said to Jonah, Is it right for you to be angry about the plant? It is, he said. And I’m so angry I wish I were dead. Jonah 4:8–9 NIV As the scorching wind and sun blazed on Jonahs head, he stubbornly sat there waiting to see judgment fall on the city of Nineveh. While the man of God sulked alone, the city had fasted and repented from their sin and God had changed His mind about destroying them. God wanted to help Jonah overcome this roadblock in his life and provided just what he needed day by day. He provided a plant to give Jonah shade, a worm to take away the plant, a scorching east wind, and the blazing sun for his head. He made Jonah uncomfortable and very irritated. Don’t waste time waiting on the judgement of others to happen while you sit on the sidelines in bitterness. Don’t be happy when your enemy gets what they deserved because without forgiveness, we are as guilty as they are. God has a way of providing everything that we need to correct our course, especially for those representing Him. When you feel the scorching wind start to blow, you need to repent and move on.
