Good Morning, Friends! On this day in 1484, the rather misnamed - TopicsExpress

Good Morning, Friends! On this day in 1484, the rather misnamed Pope Innocent VIIII ordered a Grand Inquisition to root out all witches in Europe. It was easy to qualify for witchdom. All you had to do was not be Catholic. Interestingly, when the Puritans of Boston launched their witch hunts, 200 years later, being Catholic meant you probably WERE a witch. In 1775, Henry Knox began his 3 month transport of cannons from Fort Ticonderoga to Boston, which resulted in George Washington driving the British out of town. And if youre looking for things to celebrate, its the birthday of Martin Van Buren, Walt Disney, Little Richard, and the New England Patriots very own LeGarette Blunt. Not good enough? Its also the 81st anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition. Now theres something to raise your glass to, if youre so inclined. Although, not everyone was celebrating it back in 1933. My great-grandfather was a Boston bootlegger, who had done quite well for himself off the 18th Amendment. Fortunately, he had a fallback job: he was also on the BPD.
