Good Morning Hohenfels! News Brief for Monday, May 12, 2014 USAG Hohenfels Casing of the Colors Ceremony May 12: All Hohenfels Military Community Members are cordially invited to the USAG Hohenfels Casing of the Colors Ceremony, at 10 a.m. at the Post Theater. This will be an historical day for the United States Army Garrison Hohenfels as LTC John J. Strange Jr. (Commander, USAG H) relinquishes his Command as the last USAG Hohenfels Commander and CSM Kenneth McKoy (USAG H, CSM) relinquishes his Responsibility as the last USAG Hohenfels Command Sergeant Major. Road Closure from Parsberg to Gate 5 May 12 – 30: Due to road construction along State Rd. 2234 from the Parsberg Autobahn exit to Gate 5, all Gate 1 and Gate 5 traffic will be rerouted along County Rd. 33 from Rudolfshoehe, Degerndorf, Stetten, Raitenbuch and through Grossbissendorf. All detours will be clearly marked. Personnel trying to reach the Gate 5 from the Velburg direction will not be able to travel through Hoermansdorf. They will need to take the autobahn form Velburg to Parsberg or take the state road 2220 through the town of Ronsoldon and into Parsberg. Speed Reduction along Schmidmuhlen Road May 12 – June 2: Due to increased military traffic, the speed limit along portions of the Schmidmuhlen road through the training area will be reduced from 70 kph to 40 kph. Additionally, three extra stop signs will be added. Please use caution while travelling through the area. FRG Leadership Training May 12: This workshop provides the training necessary for all members of the FRG Leadership Team. Recommended for FRG Leaders, Treasurers, Key Callers, Volunteers, and Rear Detachment Command. Join the training from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Bldg 10. Let’s Speak English May 12: Our English as a Second Language education program is for all community members who are not proficient in the English Language. It is designed to assist Soldiers, Civilians, and Family Members who are not fluent and will provide a basic understanding of the English language and provide fundamental communication skills. Softball Coaches Meeting May 12: Sports & Fitness will conduct their coaches meeting for the upcoming Unit Level Softball program at the Hohenfels Post Gym at 5:30 p.m. Coaches will receive the Softball Bylaws and the regular season schedule.
