**Good Morning Hounds!** My question first question is: Other than mindat.org, do you know of a source/publication that has (a hopefully comprehensive) records of older mine status? I have thousands of specimens, from nearly as many sites. I inherited a large collection from my father and grandfather. Its approx 70% self collected, and as I am moving, and had to pack, soon to unpack Ive become more curious about these old mines, sites that sometimes I recognize as no longer operational. My second question is I only have room to display a few, and for the most part I have differing formations of same site, or multiples. How do you inventory (chronicle) your related ( or connected, same mine, multiple, etc... specimens? is there a standardized archival system? If so, please advise. Thank you, and word to the wise, I paid attention to my Dad when he told me of individual aspects of each specimen, my sister- was confident he would write it all down some day. Though the collection is well documented, ( It won Dad a Westinghouse scholarship, early 60s) there is/are so many details... write EVERYTHING down (and keep along side your rocks- not separate)...you just never know when its your time to go~ Thanks, and I love this board :)
