Good Morning I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the overwhelming support we received over the past week. I can’t put into words how wonderful it was to receive all the encouraging emails, cards, phone calls, texts, and visits at our home. The gifts of food, flowers and household necessities were nonstop and very much appreciated, I think back to the Wake and the fact that visitors had to wait for well over an hour in the cold to express their sorrow for our loss – not sure how we would have coped during this difficult time without all the sincere gestures of love for my family. I want to thank all the people that celebrated his life with us on Thursday night and of course Friday - the day of his funeral and lunch at the Holiday Inn. I don’t think we will ever be able to overcome our loss – we have to learn to cope with what we have been calling the new normal. You know I subscribe to daily inspirational messages and to be honest I usually forget the beginning of the message by the time I get to the end of it however I do have my favorite and the only one that I could recite, it has stuck with me since I read it and now I know why this one has been in my mind – It is from Steve Jobs – He said: Live everyday like it is your last day because some day it will be! Nick was not aware of this message but I guarantee you he lived his life by the words of Steve Jobs! Nice job Nick I hope I follow his words well as you did!! Nick we love you - we are no longer able to physically feel and touch you but we know you will be reaching out to us everyday with your arms held out as wide as they can go, that was your trademark which was clearly evident in all the photographs below - you will always be in our hearts and we will always be a family of FIVE! Love Dad – your good friend and father - I will miss you! PS: Most of you know that Nick would always rant on Facebook so I apolgize for the length but with Nick gone someone had to fill your Facebook page today
