Good Morning Labour Family and Friends We awake this morning to wonderful sunshine after a night of rain. God has truly blessed this Land !!! Yesterday marked the beginning of the Independence celebrations, 36 years as an independent nation. We must admit that she has developed and grown tremendously within the past 15 years. This time of year is one of my favourites , being a true patriot . I look forward to seeing many come home to celebrate . eating more of our local dishes especially crab and callalou and seeing our culture displayed everywhere. I know the Flambouyant Dancers have been hard at work and I will be present to support them during their performances. Let us take this time to appreciate the many sacrifices, contributions and selfless acts which many have made to make Dominica a better place - from those who pick up litter while they take casual walks , those who toil the land , those abroad who remind everyone of their beautiful country and who continue to contribute to the development of our country and to those like our Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit who have sleepless nights formulating plans ans actions to take our country forward. We must all remember that we have a duty to care for this land remembering always (our motto) that After God is the Earth/Après Bondie, Cest La Ter . Let us all unite as we celebrate our Independence OUR NATION OUR RESPONSIBILITY!!!
