Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen Reenactors, I have two up and coming events that our group in Michigan is hosting. I would love to have ladies and gentlemen strolling about, or shooting at one another, whichever you prefer. The first is the Mid Michigan Muster Sept 20-22. The next is Carpenter farm Muster Oct 11-13.There is no registration fee, both are limited in size so you would need to register in advance as we can then plan appropriately for wood/ water and straw. Artillery is welcome to both events with advance registration. These are not events with sutlers or food vendors. They are both events with a focus on the reenactor. You will not see a storm of thousands of people walking through. I consider this a hobby reward program. We are doing it more for you the hobbyist then the spectator. Not to say they are not welcome, they certainly are, but you will not have loudspeaker music or chili-fry vendors within your line of vision. The Deerfield muster ( Mt. Pleasant , MI )is a 300 acre nature park meant to relax and enjoy reenacting as it should be. Battles both days in two different locations, tacticals are in the woods and they will have objectives. All this in a quiet natural setting including sway bridges, artisan and hand pump wells, trails to the woods along the Chippeway river, and each camp will enjoy a view of at least one of the three ponds. The deer chomp on grass and the cranes land on the water while you enjoy your morning coffee. Most of the views will possibly see vehicles during public hours ( handicap parking is in the line of vision) , but no vendors, amusement rides or loudspeakers. Sutlers who offer hand made/ machine sewn items are welcome but I will limit them to only 3. This event is in a county park, you will need advance registration to waive the county park fee and receive your parking pass at the gate. The Carpenter Farm Muster ( Laingsburg Michigan) has a Christmas village and petting zoo as well as a food barn, but not in the reenactment line of site. The military will camp in a cleared field near the Vermillion creek, headquarters will be in a log cabin. The field has plenty of wildlife running about. Horse drawn wagons will bring the public back to the military sites and forward to the civilian sites. You are allowed to bring horses to this event but only with advance planning. Artillery is invited and welcomed but we are sorry that we can not include a bounty. Both events will be a Army on the March, you will be expected to Bivouac or camp with dog tents only. All others will be asked to set up in civilian camp a short walking distance. Pre-registration is required. Please contact General David S. Rowley at tenthmich@yahoo or visit our web site for updates tenthmichiganinfantry
