Good Morning Midland, Department of Public Services crews have been out since 4:00 am on Saturday working to clear the streets from the recent snow. All streets have now been plowed, including the court bubbles. Crews are now out working to clean up drifted areas. While the streets have been plowed, most have some snow pack on them and will be slippery. Unfortunately, temperatures are too cold for salt to be very effective. We do add liquid calcium chloride to the salt as it leaves the trucks, which helps the salt work at lower temperatures, but even the treated salt will cease to be effective as the temperatures continue to drop over the next few days. Crews will continue to salt intersections until we reach temperatures where it is no longer effective. Please use caution as drifting continues to be an issue along with slippery road surfaces.
