Good Morning. Sometimes when we sit and reflect on the state of our lives all we can see are the many transgressions that we have committed. At times of weigh of our sins is so heavy that we are not sure if God will forgive our sins. The Lord have the children of Israel a promise in Jer. 33:8 that He has extended to all mankind. The Lord said, “And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.” Matthew Henry in his commentary on this verse said, “By sin they have become filthy, and odious to Gods holiness, but God will cleanse them, and purify them from their iniquity. As those that were ceremonially unclean, and were therefore shut out from the tabernacle, when they were sprinkled with the water of purification had liberty of access to it again, so had they to their own land, and the privileges of it, when God had cleansed them from their iniquities. In allusion to that sprinkling, David prays, Purge me with hyssop. [2.] By sin they have become guilty, and obnoxious to his justice; but he will pardon all their iniquities, will remove the punishment to which for sin they were bound over. All who by sanctifying grace are cleansed from the filth of sin, by pardoning mercy are freed from the guilt of it.” The blood that flows from the fountain of calvary is the only thing that can cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I pray that we will take God at His words and allow this precious promise to bring comfort to our soul today. There is hope in the Lord.
