Good Morning! There has been a bit of confusion as to what the decorated plaster Whippets will be used for. The Whippets will become the center focus of a silent auction at the 2015 National Specialty we are calling Color Immaterial. These decorated Whippets will be on display at the 2015 National. Plus photos of them will reside somewhere on the web. People at the National will be able to bid on their favorite decorated Whippet to possibly take home with them! The best part is those folks who cant make it to the specialty will be able to place bids from home as well! You will email your bid for the maximum amount you are willing to pay. People bidding in person will know that there is a remote bid, but they will not know the amount. When the auction ends, if a remote bidder is the high bidder, bidder will pay $1 more than the last highest bid. As Linda Zaworski mentioned, this is a play on an auction that the Dalmatian club used years ago. Here is a sample of some of the Decorated Dals. I cant wait to see what our fellow Whippeteers come up with once they let their creative minds soar! If anyone has questions, please dont hesitate to ask either myself or Lisa Fontaine
