Good Morning Yall!... It Aint Easy Being Green...Thats the title of song made popular, by none other than Kermit the Frog of Sesame Street Fame! Amen! For those of you like me who grew up watching Sesame Street at a young age, you may recall Kermit the Frog expressing his own temporary opinion, of himself standing out like a sore thumb of his being his natural color of Green! Lol! But then, as the song progresses, he goes on to actually have an healthy appreciation of who and what he is- what he is all about! As Im having my little Sesame Street flashback, I am reminded of an event which took place quite a few years ago! It was actually at the BET Awards around 2001! The Philly-born actress and rapper, known as Eve (thats my girl!) happened to bum rush the stage when former NBA Los Angeles Laker player, Shaquille ONeil was announcing nominees in a music category... Well, Miss Eve comes out on stage holding up high, the basketball jersey of none other than our then own, Allen Iverson of the Philadelphia 76ers!!! Here she was, standing unequivocally shorter than Shaq, and against the widely Los Angeles Laker fan audience, as they all booed and hissed at her, and Shaq looked his nose down at her ( playfully of course) and asked her, What are You doing here? Then, Eve, proudly takes the mic and announces to Shaq and the audience, in her Philly-accent, Im REPRESENTING... Thats Right, Deal With It!... It was Amazing to see! Although she got some flack, she stood, and ultimately gained respect as she held it down! Amen! And thats what we as the members of the Body of Christ do...We are REPRESENTIN and HOLDING IT DOWN! Glory Be to God! Im reflecting in Gods Holy Word, that we are actually, Ambassadors for Christ, as though God was making His appeal through Us ( 2 Corinthians 5:20) Amen! Just like Eve and Kermit the Frog, We may standout as being Green, and the Only One Standing, But Everyday, we are on the Frontline, wearing Christs name to the World!
