((Good Morning everyone. Time for a morning ramble on this first morning of 2015.)) ((Mystery Skulls.)) ((Im going to assume most of you are humming the beats and tones to Ghost now. Good.)) ((I found out that they have a concert in St. Louis next month, so out of curiosity I went abd purchased both their Album, Forever, and the EP on their Bandcamp. By the way, worth it. Go look into it.)) ((Whats the point of this? Well since I dont have the physical CD yet for ripping, I was listening to it via YouTube. While the comments were of the useful fare of half useful, half insanity, and just one person who labeled the minutes for the song so the user to skip ahead to that particular single, there was a thread complaining about how the account put the full album up, and decried people for listening to it instead of purchasing the physical album.)) ((The thread was soon derailed by some troll who thought high comedy involved racial slurs.)) ((But it did get me thinking once more about the overall gray area this presents. I can still see a need for an artist to obtain the money it rightfully deserves, to pay for their fees and to make a living. But on the other hand, to try to keep it off the internet like this, preventing an entire audience from hearing their work, is downright stupid to me. I cant claim that listening to it before buying always guarantee in a solid purchase, but it is a great influence. Sort of like being able to play a full game at a friends home and buying it for yourself. A fan with money will purchase, and other fans will supoirt it how they can, be it word of mouth, works of art, even sometimes fiction.)) ((This is why I still disagree with the original decision from Taylor Swift and her team to remove her music from Spotify, as it does still come off as greedy and a means to make people buy the work instead of merely enjoying and sharing. Doesnt help that it was also done around the time of her last album, which was also heavily restricted where it was sold.)) ((Dont take my opinion as golden. This whole area is a grey zone of opinions, and no one person is right. And maybe some day there will be a better overall solution to it all. But that wont stop people from uploading full albums for free.))
