Good Morning folks. I hope you are all doing well. Since I cannot - TopicsExpress

Good Morning folks. I hope you are all doing well. Since I cannot sleep will give you all an update. I asked for prayers because after the surgery on Friday to fix my hip after the fall on Wednesday night, I had developed a low grade fever that would not go away. They ran a cat scan to make sure there was not a blood clot. Good news was that there was no blood clot. Bad news was they found pneumonia in my right lung. But this allowed them to change to a more appropriate antibiotic. After a high temp of 101.9 deg F before the change, I can thank the Lord that it is down to 99.1 deg F this morning. Also, I was so scared about doing the cat scan, due to the extreme pain of the pre-op one. Thank you all for your prayers, and words of encouragement about it. I experienced minimal pain during this one! It is certainly the Lord that my thanks go to. But without YOUR PRAYERS I might find myself in a whole different situation. To God Be The Glory! The next step here is getting me ready for transfer. I need to get to a point where I am off the bed and put some weight on the leg. Today might be that day. Once I can do that and transfer of the pain pump, I will be transferring to a rehab facility, most likely Health South in Sugar Land. The expected time there is 2-4 months. Yes that is months, not weeks. So pray that things progress much faster than expected. I am ready to do what needs to be done to get the biggest recovery, but that is a long time away from home and my wife. It also is a long time away from the radio station. There might be a way around that, but one thing at a time. Again, thanks to all of you for your prayers and words of encouragment. James Larken Smith
