Good Morning from St. James Infirmary aka Wayside Sanctuary! All of the patients are doing much better today. Bella is back to her normal self, as normal as she can get being confined with Sam I Am in our Laundry Room--much better than a crate. No more temperature, no more fluid retention in the surgical site and no more warm, red skin. I am hoping her broken leg moves beyond sounding crunchy. I just know she feels your prayers and positive thoughts and messages. I sure do. Sam I Ams leg is just as inflamed today, but he has only had his second dosage of antibiotics--so, I am hoping the redness and heat dissipate soon. Our vet has known of dogs that did not survive the porcupine encounter. They were ones that quills migrated to vital organs. Luckily, Sam I Am seems to be dodging that bullet. With the pain medication, Sam I Am is able to use both front legs--great relief. Sam has 22 shrapnel embedded in his right shoulder from many years ago making it useless at times. Bob, Bob, Bob--He is doing great. His antibiotics always give him close to instant relief. Hes pretty macho right now as he is getting peanut butter like Bella and Sam I Am! He isnt embarrassed a bit by his Southwest look belly band. Thank you all so much. I love my FB Friends! They are always here for me and my babies.
