Good News: The steroids worked quickly and Jayse was able to get some sleep with very few coughing attacks!!!! Bad News: A drama free night is not Js style. We had a night full of bradycardia, alarms and some crazy cardiac dysrhythmia. Like dozens of events a minute for an hour and a half. And his heart rate would go from 120 to 50 in just 3 seconds. Good News: Jayson slept through the events comfortably. Bad News: Mommy and Daddy did not. Good News: The episodes were briefly caught on the episode monitor. Bad News: Honestly, the heart rate monitor is remarkably old-school. It only holds 5 episodes of 30 seconds each before I have to call the company in the middle of the night to transmit the data. It requires a landline phone, which we dont have, and I have to arrange my cell phone on a stack of books and lean it against the monitor while it takes over 10 minutes to send the data which consists of loud beeps and screeches, much like the noises a fax machine makes. AND since I was on a cell phone, it took three tries of 10 minutes each for them to get enough of the data to use. So, that was an additional 30 minutes of my sleep time that I spent on the phone transmitting data via phone. Weird. It is suddenly becoming clear that I wont be sleeping much over the next 30 days. Good News: Its Sunday, the day of rest. And our family intends to do a lottttt of resting. in our pjs. and watching Christmas movies.
