Good People With a Bad Record: Even good people make wrong choices and costly mistakes. Have you ever noticed that most good people have a bad record. Actually it is their bad and regrettable past that molded and shaped them into good people. Theyve faced the hash consequences of their choices, paid the high cost for their mistakes and tasted the bitter experience of regret. Theyve been toughened by trials and cleansed by tears. Theyve been taught by experience and have graduated from the school of hard knocks. Theyve walked past the gates of hell and through the jaws of death, and they have permanent scars and deep wounds to prove it. Theyve tried it all, been through it all, done it all and seen it all. Theyve learned their lessons and are ready to start a new life. They dont need constant reminders of where theyve been. Theyre trying hard to forget the past and start afresh. Give them hope not I told you so lectures. Give them a chance to gather their broken pieces, space to rebuild their lives, time to outgrow and overcome their past, and the opportunity to prove their repentance and to earn your trust. Society may shun them, family and friends may judge them, banks may deny them credit, employers my refuse to hire them but to such Jesus says, Zacchaeus, come down immediately.
