Good Saturday evening, guys! Backtrack po tayo sa Job 11–16. Just a few thoughts from Pardner Angelica and I: JOB 11 & 12: Zophar said: Know then that God exacts of you less than your guilt deserves (11:6). (Ouch! :S) Job said: No doubt you are the people, and wisdom will die with you. ... I am a laughingstock to my friends; I, who called to God and He answered me, a just and blameless man, am a laughingstock. In the thought of one who is at ease there is contempt for misfortune (12:2,4-5). In the thought of one who is at ease there is contempt for misfortune. For me, this verse talks about how natural it is for us to judge others who are in misfortune. Why? Its because we have a tendency to use ourselves as a point of reference—what we would have done or how we would have dealt with a particular situation if we had been in someones shoes ... And oftentimes, we end up thinking we would have done better. But when others share their problems with us, our response should be one of compassion and coming alongside them to help them. Lets respect how they feel, while at the same time also gently helping them see another perspective. We should never be so sure of our point of view—like Jobs friends—and we should be humble to acknowledge we are all different, and the truth is, no one really knows the suffering or pain of another.
