Good Sunday Morning Everyone….here sipping my Coffee, and I just wanted to keep everyone updated. First of all, the first round of significant rain has moved through, we are going to be in a break for the next 4-6 hours. Rainfall amounts averaged about 1” with considerable runoff and some snow melt. Rainfall amounts: Albany and Troy 1”, East Jewett 1.6”, Saratoga 1.1”, Hudson 1.7”, Glens Falls .9”, Bennington 1”, Pittsfield 1.3”…… Rivers and streams in many locations have risen to bankful……still need to watch localized ice jams. The Storm is located over Delaware Bay right now…..This is with the Upper Level support. This will move N’eastward this afternoon….and increase the precip again. No major problems today, just keep an eye on rivers and streams in your local area for more rises and any ice jams. Radar ius showing a large area of precip developing near the center of the storm right now through the Mid-Atlantic. During tonight, there will be enough colder air moving in so that temps may dip to 32…pockets of sleet and freezing rain will develop across much of the region. There could also be some wet snow late tonight (esp higher elevations) Light Sleet/Snow may linger into Monday Morning……..and then the storm finally pulls away during the afternoon. This is a large….slow moving system. radar.weather.gov/Conus/northeast_loop.php
