Good Sunday morning, Hopkins County area.....a warm 78 degrees, this morning, at my house, under clear skies, and expect another hot one, with a predicted afternoon high of 99 degrees.....tonights forecast calls for isolated thunderstorms and 77 degrees, as a weather system moves through.....this system will start a cooling trend in our area and will have highs in the 80s by the end of next week....a welcomed relief from this extreme heat.....I know it is that we have been fortunate and had a mild summer, but the heat the last couple of days have sapped my energy completely.....it hasnt been any warmer than is the usual trend but I havent wanted to do anything but stay in the cool, and when I get out, it just drains all the energy that I have.....Im looking forward to some cooler weather!.....A wonderful day on Saturday, as I got some moving done, then went and enjoyed visiting with a large crowd at the 1st Annual Clay Mitchell Memorial Ranch Rodeo....friends and family of Clay gathered and remembered him in a very special way and paid tribute to a fine young man, who departed this life much too soon!....I know he would have been proud of the event and that it is designed to raise funds for deserving youth scholarships.....last night entailed going to the Senior Citizens Prom and enjoying the Duck Dynasty theme......everyone was Happy, Happy, Happy and certainly enjoyed the Miss Kays Banana Pudding Recipe for dessert.....Thanks Karon Weatherman for making me some without the bananas!.....The next stop was a benefit Softball Tournament at Coleman Park....where the Top Flight Team beat the PMS Team for the championship.....loads of activities that were uplifting and beneficial to our community!......Isnt it great to live in Hopkins County!......This morning I was drawn to the Apostle Pauls word in his letter to the Philippians, chapter 4, verse 12, I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.......I think most of us can say that we live in the well fed and plentiful condition.....and I know that it is hard for me to be content when Im hungry.....but the Lord wants us to depend on Him and to learn to be content in whatever life brings us.....He wants us to have enough faith that we just naturally look to Him and accept the challenges, knowing that He will provide.....Its a hard, hard lesson to learn and one that each of us need to work on!.....Depend on the Lord, this beautiful Lords Day, that He has provided and be blessed!
