Good afternoon everyone, I spoke to Evan Williams of the Jefferson County Community and Economic Development of Land Development yesterday. Mr. Williams reported that Dollar General is abandoning the proposed site that adjoins Sunny dell Subdivision and Cozy Homes Subdivision on Warrior River Road! They are currently looking at some properties on 15th Street Road. Mr. Evans said all the emails and response have definitely made a difference (GREAT WORK EVERYONE!!). Please keep in mind this does not mean they may not come back and try again, so, if anyone receives any mail that states a hearing is scheduled or will be held on changing property in your area from residential to commercial, please let us know immediately. We will then have to get together to attend the re-zoning hearing and state our case to protest. We ask you to share this information with those who do not have email and internet. Also, please remember our quarterly meeting is scheduled for this Tuesday night, 10/14 at 7:00PM at the Concord Community Center. Frederick Hamilton from HUD will be present and giving update Storm shelter situation and the abandoned properties and debris removal. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend since I will be on a much needed tropical vacation but it will proceed as usual. Thank you, JoAnn Griffin, President Concord Community Association ***Please private message email address if you want added on our email distribution list. You will not miss information as often in your facebook feed***
