Good afternoon from the Carnival Legend and a day dominated so far - TopicsExpress

Good afternoon from the Carnival Legend and a day dominated so far by the sound of the fog horn which every 2 minutes blasts into the pea souper which we are currently sailing through. The seas are calm though and generally the weather forecast looks good with certainly less rain than last cruise. I have already hosted the morning show and my talk for Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow and Reykjavik, Iceland and shortly I will host a name that tune contest with Calvyn before we head into elegant night. The guests are much older this voyage but so far everyone seems happy………………..well…………………mostly everyone. From: LEGEND GUEST SERVICES Sent: Thursday, September 26, 2013 9:32 AM To: LEGEND CRUISE DIRECTOR; Cc: LEGEND ASSISTANT CRUISE DIRECTOR; LEGEND GUEST SERVICES MANAGER; LEGEND GUEST SERVICES SUPERVISOR; LEGEND GUEST SERVICES Subject: Guest Mrs___________SR **** - Show was too loud Hello John Mrs _______ was at the GSD this morning early and was wanting to state that the show in Follies last night was too loud. Mrs______ says that she expects something to be done about this and she reminded me a lot that she was a Platinum cruiser. This is just FYI John for now. Thanks and kind regards Guest Services Associate, Carnival Legend Carnival Cruise Lines So the show she was unhappy about was my show, the Welcome Aboard Show, which apart from an overture from the Legend orchestra was just me, afat bloke talking on a microphone, oh and we had a new bit aI tried with a Full Monty routine by a man married for 51 years which was very funny, but that’s it. And if this lady is unhappy about me telling silly jokes on a microphone, what would they have to say about the Jazz Hot show tonight? Here on the ships, we have become very conscious about the levels of sound in all our lounges and in the main theatre especially. Levels have been set that fall in accordance with bearded guidelines and are closely monitored by our Apple-loving, nostril-pierced technicians. Now, we do get a few comments about the levels of sound in the main show room especially during our big production shows but compare these comments to those of say five years ago, they are few and far between which is due to said beards with names like Erik, James and Nigel who have make sure we don’t go over the guidelines they have set. So, baring this in mind I needed to check where this guest had been sitting during the show and have asked them to contact me via their cabin voice mail………I left a whispered message. I wonder if she were sitting were right under one of the main speakers? The guest is 74 years old so I have to take that into account and will work to make sure she sits in a better place for her sensitive hearing for the rest of the cruise. Oh, just before I bugger off to have some fun on stage with the guests I need to apologise I guess to someone called Phyl……….well it doesn’t matter. I won’t post her name or indeed her full post to my blog here as I don’t want her to be pulvarised by others. It referred to comment about my banning the world “nibbles” and if anyone did use it when requesting a meet and greet that they would be presented with a chance to nibble on my underpants which she said “ disgusted her .” And I should not have said that, it is disgusting because my underpants are not exactly what you would call edible. Edible underwear should I am told be lacy and taste of cherries, not look like a giant diaper with insides that look like an airport runway. That’s the news for now, off to entertain the guests………………quietly Wish you were here
