Job Purpose: + Providing support to business and operational function on legal and compliance matters in the Southeast Asia (Thailand, Philippine, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, India etc.). Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Establishing and maintaining the legal/compliance office newly in Singapore. [Legal matter] + Providing advice on legal matters including corporate governance, commercial contract and agreements, employment and product liability. + Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of legal, commercial and corporate documents and contracts. + Reviewing and advising on the company’s rights and liabilities under existing commercial and corporate agreements. [Compliance matter] + Implementing global compliance program. + Holding the regional compliance committee regarding compliance matters in the Southeast Asia. + Formulating compliance check-lists. + Conducting training for employer and/or employees of business and operational function in the Southeast Asia related to anti-corruption law, competition law and related company policies. [Others] + Liaising with external legal counsels on legal and compliance matters. + Participating the global legal meetings in Kyoto, Japan and presenting reports. + Working with Japanese legal staff in Singapore and working closely with the legal division at the headquarters in Kyoto, Japan. + Supporting other corporate commercial and compliance projects as needed. Knowledge & Experience: + LLB from a recognized university in a common law jurisdiction. + Good knowledge and experience in compliance, anti-corruption law, competition law, commercial law and contract negotiations. + Demonstrated ability to investigate highly confidential issues by appropriately applying integrity and good judgement. + Good command of written and spoken English. + Excellent communication skills. + Strong leadership and managerial skills. + Willingness to do some travel in the Southeast Asia. + Candidate must possess at least a Bachelors Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Masters Degree, Doctorate (PhD), Law or equivalent. + At least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position. + Preferably Managers specializing in Law/Legal Services or equivalent.
