Good day everyone Heres an update with what’s happening at East Carlton Country Park . We would like to try and encourage more groups, schools to come to the park and see all the great things happening like: Foxy the Forester Woodland Shop The shop has just opened last weekend and sells everything from “Foxy the Forester Adventure back packs” which offer a huge amount of games and activities for young people in your local woodlands and open spaces. They also sell compasses, erasers, magnifying glasses, books on nature, plants, flowers, bird feeders, bird seed, wood, charcoal for your wood burners and much more other items too. There is more stock coming each week. We have a campsite that is for hire which includes a log cabin, kitchen, toilets, shower and a BBQ area. We offer great rates to schools, groups and organisations. We have a small Heritage museum that’s tells the story of Corby and its steelworks. We have new craft shops up and down stairs of the Old Coach House. They normally open Wednesday- Sunday each week unless times stated Fairy Dust who are photographers and do fantastic photos of your children dressed up as fairies, elves etc. The Laughing Ewe is a wool shop selling the highest quality wool and patterns but also offers classes on how to knit. OHSO Design is run by Agnes who is a top London designer of clothes and wedding dresses. Heritage Dolls Houses who sell dolls houses and accessories Dubbers Kiln who deal with ceramics and have a workshop for parties, groups or individuals. You can come along and choose a piece of pottery and decorate it the way you like it and they will fire it for you. The Heritage Cafe (Open 7 days a week)!! Sells some of the best cakes around plus ice cream, cookies, bacon rolls, full English breakfast, afternoon tea, Panini’s, toasties, tea cakes, jacket potatoes with all kinds of fillings. (our coleslaw is made fresh to order)and much much more!! Through Foxy the Forester we can offer we can offer fun trips out for you and your groups such as a Teddy Bears picnics and nature walks. We can offer an educational trip out for you too; showing you the process of how we deal with a fallen tree and the process we go through by cutting the tree up and putting through our log splitter and bagging it up ready for sale. The Friends of East Carlton Park (FOECP) are looking for volunteers of all ages to get involved with upkeep of the park and the running of our Woodland shop.
