Good evening Wintermist! Ive been asked by several people in the Shire for information about Wintermist Yule! There will be NO TOURNAMENT. The Where: Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2525 Belle Terrace, Bakersfield, CA The When: Site Opens at 2:00, with games, activities, general socializing before the Potluck begins. The How Much: Site Fee will be $7, with the standard $5 NMS, and there will be a Family Cap. Potluck will begin around 4:30-5:00. The Potluck will be simple. There will be a main dish provided Edward Moore will be cooking up some chicken!) but well need some help with the rest. Please check the alphabet listing below to find where your last name falls and what kind of side dish you should provide. There will be a Dessert Contest with a theme of Christmas Spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, allspice etc). This does not need to be a period dish, or have documentation. Start planning!! There will also be a White Elephant Gift Exchange with a cap of $20. It will be a standard gift exchange (pick a number, take your turn, limited to one steal...). While period gifts are not required, they are encouraged. As is typical with Wintermist and Yule Celebrations, there will be a table decorating contest! Try and make it as festive as you can! No theme, except, you know, Christmas, but just try and be as cheery as you can be! Potluck Alphabet (by MUNDANE LAST NAME): With any dishes you provide, please remember to include an ingredient list. We do have members who have allergies and sensitivities. Please remember to bring a serving utensil appropriate for your dish. No one wants to be stuck doing dishes till midnight. A-H: Appetizer I-T: Side Dish S-Z: Bread Desserts will be covered by the DESSERT CONTEST thats outlined above. This is a Discreetly Damp site. Water, lemonade and tea will be provided. There will be NO dish washing services provided at this event. There will be plastic bags for your to store your dishes in. PLEASE do not wash or scrape your dishes into the sinks in the bathrooms. There is LIMITED space in the kitchen and even more LIMITED space in the refrigerator. Please remember to bring your dish fully prepared (crock pots are acceptable). I think Ive covered all the bases for this event, and Im sorry its taken me so long to get this information. While this isnt a formal Yule, like weve had in the past, I hope to make it enjoyable for the Shire, and any guests we might have. Please dont hesitate to message me should you have any questions. Also, if you have a serious allergy, as in cant be in the vicinity of peanuts, or the like, please message me so I can insure that there are no chances of cross-contamination.
