Good evening everyone, Im hoping some of you might be able to help with an ID for this moth, seen today on an old cottage wall in Needham Market, Suffolk (and later gently handled as seen here). The closest visual likeness I can find is the Yellow-Ringed Carpet (Entephria flavicinctata), but I realise its not the right time of year (May and August broods) or really the right habitat given that they tend to like altitude (or so I have read in the past). There are plenty of old stone-and-mortar walls nearby which themselves would be suitable habitat for the stonecrop/ saxifrage foodplants, although I didnt see any such plants (but then I didnt look for them) and nearby gardens could of course have planted ornamental saxifrages. Thank you in advance for your help :-)
