Good evening people and I hope you all had a good day at work, or - TopicsExpress

Good evening people and I hope you all had a good day at work, or at play. Patti, my mother and I had a wonderful day out looking at the foliage up north. Thanks to all who responded to my post asking where to go to see some peek colors, and up north was it today. It took about two hours to get up to where we wanted to be which was in Meredith New Hampshire. I have to admit, being up there I could see myself getting quite inspired, and if I was let loose up there for a week of more I bet I could get very creative with my poetry, writings and music. But I know eventually the big city would be calling my name back to her busy streets, but for today.. It was nice to get away. It was a real nice ride up and the thunder clouds on the horizon gave the scenery that forbidden backdrop that only made us push further on. Patti and my mother were chatting it up in the front seats and I was just drawn into my thoughts while watching the deep greens and reds flash by like some kaleidoscope slide show of brilliance. A big old eighteen wheeler nudged up next to us roaring down the highway and I looked up and seen this sentence written in italic letters above the back window of the cab Running down a dream. I had to let out a subtle little laugh because that is how I have felt for a little over a year now. I have been running straight on into a world and life that I have to say, is very foreign to me, but I just keep on trucking straight into the storm clouds, looking for the bursting rays of the sun just over that last mountain I need to climb. And when I have reached that peek above it all, I see another mountain in the distance. And I know with each elevation I reach I become stronger, more positive, and eager to take on life instead of running from it. It began to rain so we pulled into the Harts Turkey Farm and had a good lunch. My mother hadnt been to the Turkey Farm since my father was alive, but I believe that was the Greenridge Turkey Farm. But it didnt matter.. My two girls were happy, and in the process, that made me happy. On the way home my mother was singing Elvis songs, and Roy Orbison and Patti and I were backing her up.. We probably sounded like a bad version of Gladys Knight and the Pips.. But to be honest, we could have gave a damn. My mother is ninety three years young my friends, and I want her to enjoy as much of this life as she can. And with me being her son, and being able to do this now after a long time of absence.. Really makes me proud of who I am, and who she is. Because this woman has seen more then anyone was suppose to in this life, and there aint a crack in her armor at all. The colors were even more bright on the way home and we made it back in good time. I talked with some great people when I got home. My sponsor Wayne, who is taking off to the sunny Islands tomorrow in the morning, and he just wanted to talk, and share some good things with me before he goes, and I shared with him. Then I spoke to my friend Orlando and thanked him for some great advice he gave me the other night, and I also thanked him for being a good friend, a real friend, and a good man. I love the guy, and he loves me.. And that is something so real, and so solid.. It would take me a book to explain. I then talked to my dear sister Lorraine and we laughed and chatted like siblings do, and that girl can always make me smile, and thats huge for this guy. So the day is done and the Sons of Anarchy will be on soon, so its time to kick back, look back, and realize just how sweet it is.. What a wonderful world this life has become in a year.. And that. I am so grateful for.. Have a great night my friends and take care.
