Good grief, dealing with government paperwork is a pain! Had to file our sales and use tax with the BOE yesterday. I knew by pulling up a report on my computer exactly how much we owed, took 2 min... but NO it can not be that simple, I had to dig up all sorts of data and numbers they wanted (plus the tax rate changed on Jan 1st, so I had to pull totals for before the 1st and after the 1st) and had to fill in their on-line forms and THEN they told me after over an hour of hassling with it that I owed ... exactly what I knew in 2 min at the start of the cycle. Sigh. Then their site crashed and it took me until this morning to be able to call and make sure my form was filed and get my confirmation number. Sigh again. Well it is over for one more year. Next year Shaun Cole gets to do it!
