Good morning AFC Leopards SC family, On Monday morning , Facebook Branch did issue a statement regarding a Club members consultative forum held on Sunday regarding the welfare of the Players. The members nominated Ronald Namai to meet the Club chairman with Mumias Sugar representative. In the follow up meeting held on Wednesday, 10-12-2014 evening at Poolside restaurant and attended by the Club chairman Allan Kasavuli, DSG Asava Kadima and Committee member, Stephen Mungo, the members were updated on the matters. The two representatives nominated on Sunday reported the Chairman was keen to know the agenda of the meetings after being informed by some sources that the meetings were meant to paint the EC in bad light. After being briefed on what was discussed, he agreed that the agenda was in the good interests of the Club and he agreed to get to attend and involve the members. In the meeting on Wednesday, the chairman was tasked by Club members to update on three main issues :-KRA, Players welfare and SGM. However, the Branch statement will focus on the first two and will issue another statement on the SGM later. 1)KRA The chairman, Allan Kasavuli stated that the Club owes KRA Ksh. 5.7M and negotiations on a repayment plan are at an advanced stage and by MONDAY he will share the payment schedule. He informed the members present that the Club was in a crisis and appealed for assistance in raising funds to help sort the issue even as he promised that on Monday, the order issued to Mumias Sugar stopping the transfer of funds to AFC Leopards SC account would be lifted. He confirmed that 1.3m has been paid to KRA so far. 2)PLAYERS WELFARE The chair could not confirm when players dues would be cleared but was optimistic that once the order was lifted the payment would be paid on Monday. He further lamented the poor fans turnout which had contributed to the delay in paying allowances as the club lacks financial ability to pay its bills on time. The chairman further revealed that NEC has reworked the bonus structure and payment mode so as not to exert much pressure on Clubs treasury. A distinct PAYBILL number 001964 has been registered to enable Ingwe family assist in raising funds to supplement the deficit that is existing. The number will be managed by NEC and appointed members representatives. The next meeting will be held on Monday, 15-12-2014 at Poolside restaurant where Kasavuli is expected to share the Clubs Tax repayment plan and participate in reconstituting a members driven initiative to raise funds. As a Branch, we urge our members and the entire AFC Leopards fraternity to stand up and help put the current woes behind us as we forge ahead for future improvements. The Branch will only participate initiatives that help improve the Club. At a football club, theres a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors dont come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques, not to make them out. Well do that - they just sign them. -Bill Shankly Yours, Victor Milimu, Secretary General, AFC Leopards Facebook Branch
