Good morning, FB Family. I am just sitting here thinking about the Lord, on this His Sabbath day. Mark 2:27-28 says, And He said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath: THEREFORE THE SON OF MAN IS LORD ALSO OF THE SABBATH. Ah, yes, the Sabbath day...from sunset to sunset, a truly remarkable time when God Almighty calls mankind TO REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY TO KEEP IT HOLY. You see, the ancient Israelites had forgotten about the Sabbath day when they were in Egypt for 400 years and most people think there is no longer a need to KEEP THE SABBATH because Jesus has abolished the Commandments of the Lord. Not so!! The Sabbath day was instituted way back in the Garden of Eden and even before there was a nation of Israel, let alone the giving of the 10 Commandments at Mount Sinai; the Bible says in Genesis 26:5 Because that Abraham OBEYED My voice, and kept My charge, My COMMANDMENTS, My statutes and My laws. Gods COMMANDMENTS & LAWS were already in place and in play way before they first appeared in written Bible history. And another thing: Yes, the old covenant is done away with, this is true. Yes, we are no longer under the old covenant. Hebrews 8:6 says that Christ is the mediator of THE BETTER COVENANT WHICH WAS ESTABLISHED UPON BETTER PROMISES. Heb. 8:10 says, For this is THE COVENANT that I will make with the House of Israel after those days. saith the Lord; I will put My LAWS into their minds, and write them in their hearts.... Yes, God said that now the SAME LAWS that the world would like to believe have been DONE AWAY WITH/ABOLISHED/FULFILLED will be put into our minds and written on our hearts. To me, Ezekiel said it best: Ch.36:26-27, A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the STONY HEART out of your flesh, and I will give you a HEART OF FLESH. And I will put My Spirit within you, and CAUSE YOU TO WALK IN MY STATUTES, AND YE SHALL KEEP MY JUDGMENTS AND DO THEM. So, you see, the new covenant is the same laws and commandments except this time God will take away the stony heart and replace it with a heart of flesh....SO WE CAN WALK IN, KEEP and DO THEM.
