Good morning FB. I want to thank God for allowing me to see another day. On this brand new month, brand new day and a brand new year, Im so grateful to God. As Im reading my bible lesson, I ponder on the importance of following His example in all things. My lesson is based on the importance of Baptism. Matthew 3:13-17 tells us the about the Baptism of Jesus. Jesus told John in verse 15Let it be so now, it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness. By following His example in the water, we are publicly confessing our faith in the Savior and identifying ourselves with Him. By means of baptism, we proclaim our connection with Jesus and also other believers, we are members of one body under the authority of the same Lord. Remember, neither baptism nor any other work is required for salvation, we are saved by Gods grace strictly through faith in Jesus Christ (Eph. 2:8-9) However, God has commanded us to be baptized following our redemption so this step is an issue of obedience. In conclusion, belief in Jesus is not supposed to be hidden away like a light placed under a basket(Luke11:33) Instead, it should be expressed in words and actions.
