If you want to learn about Commander, casual formats, play whatever crazy fun decks youve built, or just learn about the game, this is a great opportunity. We are only two days into Journey into Nyx spoiler season and we have already had two Gods and a few Standard all-stars spoiled. While this might not fall into either of those categories, this card seems fine for limited and potentially annoying in Commander. It also wins so hard in the flavor and awesome art categories. I give you Underworld Coinsmith. Howling Mine with flash, I mean Dictate of Kruphix, also has some sweet art. Also, you might be thinking that Howling Mine with flash is not flavorful and is lazy design, but you should think of the constructed implications. A) This provides two blue devotion and is harder to remove than creatures. B) You get the first extra card from Dictate, not your opponent. C) And most importantly, you can play control, leave up counterspell mana, and if you dont feel it necessary to counter their spell, cast this on their endstep. Control strategies always like having more options to play cards when they leave up counterspell mana and their opponent does nothing. This could fit the bill nicely.
