Good morning. First and foremost, my thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims of 9-11-01 on this anniversary of this most tragic event. We will never forget! I want to thank everyone who came out to vote in last night’s Republican and Conservative Primaries in the City of Gloversville. My Bride Chanda and our children have been very supportive during this election cycle and will continue to be supportive as we move towards November’s general election. I have many people to thank for their time and energy during this campaign. We may have not had the most money, or the biggest endorsements, but we did have something of greater value - we had a community powered campaign. Throughout the City tonight we sent a message that through open communication, a willingness to listen and cooperation, we as a community can be a force for positive growth and change. As many may attest, it has not been an easy four years, nor do I assume that the next four years, if I am elected in November will not have its pitfalls. Gloversville faces real challenges, but we have the ability to draw from diverse, innovative and talented groups of people to address them. We have made definite headway, now we have to keep our forward momentum, continuing to fight the good fight and make Gloversville a shining example of what Upstate New York can offer. I will also push to work closer with surrounding municipalities and make consolidation plans more than just conversations. I would like to thank Mr. Ponticello for running a clean campaign. Michael stuck to the issues and spoke about his experience. Thank you! I am open to any public forums or debates with Mr. Handy about any of the issues our City faces. I will continue to be accessible and keep campaigning through November. I do not take anything for granted and realize the general election is yet to take place. Thank you to all of the people who have been a part of making this campaign a success. My wife and I cannot thank you enough. Please do not hesitate to contact me for additional comments or with questions. Dayton King City of Gloversville
