Good morning. Here is an update from Central Oregon Dispatch. They caught all the wildfires small but we could be getting some more lightening in the next few days... "Central Oregon – Overnight no new fires were reported to the COIDC. A crew did spend the night on incident #599 in the vicinity of Windy Point about 1 mile east of Spanish Peak on the Ochoco National Forest and will complete mop up today. The Green Ridge Fire near Camp Sherman is fully contained. There are 160 personnel working the fire today. Mopup and removal of excess equipment from the fire lines will continue today. Base camp remains at the Sisters Middle School. The Area Forest Closure is still in effect within the fire boundary, and roads within the fire perimeter remain closed to public travel. Details and updates about this closure are posted on the Deschutes National Forest web site fs.usda.gov/alerts/centraloregon/alerts-notices. Southwesterly winds continue to bring smoke from fires in Northern California and Southwestern Oregon into our area. Unfortunately these smoky conditions will remain until there is a significant shift in the weather pattern or the fires south of us are extinguished. Aerial imagery at oregonsmoke.blogspot provides a detailed picture and explanation on how smoke is moving across central Oregon. For the latest air quality information please visit the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality web site at deq.state.or.us/aqi/. A weak cold front is predicted to move across the region this weekend bringing breezy westerly winds on Saturday. Today and tonight there is a slight chance of rain showers and isolated thunderstorms. A drying trend is forecast for Sunday and Monday. The ban on open fires remains in effect, including charcoal fires on the Prineville District of the Bureau of Land Management, the Deschutes National Forest and the Crooked River National Grassland of the Ochoco National Forest. Campfires are prohibited except in hosted and developed campgrounds for specific information on campgrounds allowing campfires please visit blm.gov/or/districts/prineville/index.php or fs.fed.us/r6/centraloregon/fire/ "
