Good morning Hobbyists! Events, events, events! Time goes so - TopicsExpress

Good morning Hobbyists! Events, events, events! Time goes so quickly in our hobby and I find myself planning great events and being totally surprised by them when they come around! So here is a run down of whats coming up in the next week so you dont miss out! Sunday 31st August: Victorian Painting Championships Entries Due You need to have purchased your model for the competition from the Geelong store in the past month or so (as there is prize support for the heat) and all winners will be required to purchase a $10 gift voucher for entry into the final. Categories are single miniature, unit, large miniature, youngbloods and open category. Your entries need to be in to the store by 430pm on Sunday. I will be transporting your miniature to the final in Melbourne (unless you would prefer to take it yourself) so if you have any specific packaging, please provide it to me in the next week (and remember Im travelling on the train so bear that in mind regarding size/weight/etc.). I am also going to take all due care in the transportation of your entry, but DO NOT accept responsibility for any damage, loss or theft of your entry. Please consider the import of this before you enter. Sunday 31st August: Tales from the Black Library A conversion and painting competition based on your favourite Black Library character or moment. The idea of this was to give all you converters a chance in a painting competition and get your imaginations flowing. Response has been underwhelming, but Im still hopeful. You need to have purchased your entry from me for the competition and the prize as featured previously is pretty damn amazing! You have until CoB on Sunday (430pm) to get your entries in! Sunday 31st August: 24 hour Hobby Challenge Starting at 8pm on Sunday and running solidly through to 8pm on Monday night, we are hobbying like weve never hobbyed before! Participants need to purchase their hobby project from the Geelong store in the past month or so for the event. Those wishing to hobby for 4 hours need to purchase a clampack, those up for 12 hours can grab any box set, and those challenging the 24 hours need to purchase a Battleforce or equivalent. Theres still time, so come in today and chat about what YOU want to do! 24 hour challengers will get breakfast and dinner, and 12 hour challengers will get breakfast OR dinner. I just ask that due to space, if you have a portable chair or desk that you use to paint, if you can bring that it would be great. I have 10 stools in store, and table space for 30 hobbyists at a squeeze. There would be nothing to make me happier than have to paint at the counter, kneeling on the ground because all the other space is taken up by enthusiastic hobbyists! Wednesday 3rd September - Sunday 28th September: LotD Round5 This Round is all about Storm of Magic! Full rules and regulations will be posted on the Event page for the Legacy of the Damned over the next couple of days. But before then I would definitely suggest getting your hands on the Storm of Magic expansion. This round is the final round, and requires a purchase to participate. Why not kill 2 birds with one stone and pick up Storm of Magic as your purchase!? It is a brilliant large-scale game expansion and well worth a look! October 25th: Armies on Parade - Parade Day Over the next couple of weeks I will be handing out flyers for Armies on Parade. The rules have been relaxed this year so all you need to do is present an army on a 65cmx65cm display board (or 2x2 is acceptable). Competition is local in-store and there will be prizes. Whilst I totally encourage all of you to challenge yourselves and come up with new armies (or at least some new units and characters) and buy all the things from me, entry will only be a $20 gift voucher - which of course will be split up for prizes on the day. I am going to smash out something (hopefully) amazing, with ideas flying left, right and centre - and super hard to pin down to just one idea. But be sure Ill be working on it in store over the next couple of months. Dont leave it til the last minute! Start planning now, and be sure to come in and bounce your ideas off me; Im happy to help you achieve something we can photograph and get published in Visions or White Dwarf Weekly!!!
