Good morning! How are we faithing? Test all spirits is talked about in the Word. What does that mean? In simple terms, trust but verify because man can distort anything and the enemy is looking and deceiving. Ive heard many mistakes and down right heresies in my half century + on this orb and most are palatable but when scrutinized, dont hold up to scripture. We are warned of this exact thing therefore, pay attention. Dont just sit in church but take notes. Read the scripture. Study a little. Many a charismatic voice has led to destruction. If it were not so, God would not have warned us so. Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 2Pe 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. Php 3:18-19 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) Mat 16:6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. Someone comes with a new philosophy, a new creed or a doctrine foreign to you, pause and investigate beyond the place you heard it. All of a sudden a philosophy or doctrine that appeals to a human desire we ought to be suspect before we commit to it. The Word warns of such things. remember the Clark family...remember Lynn... Heavenly Father, Thank you for the truth in your Word. Keep us in tune to deception. Help us see where we are susceptible to falling. Lord we thank you for salvation. We lay all our burdens and praises at your throne and ask forgiveness when we trip and fall. Teach us to share the gospel in word and deed for your honor Lord. In Jesus name, amen
