Good morning! Im going to recap everything that was discussed last night. There were a few who couldnt make it to the meeting, and a few who did, but could not catch everything that was discussed. Here you go =) (Its a little long, so bare with me) First I want to thank EVERYONE who came out last night. BJ and I apologize for the limited seating and voice range, but it felt AWESOME to see so many people there. Our next meeting will be in a larger, quieter place, promise. If anyone has any recommendations please comment below. Let me state our mission: We are a Street Team, we are promoters, and local enthusiasts who want to see the local scene more proactive and supportive of each other. We will assemble show mobs, pass out flyers in person at local venues, or any place to help spread the word of music events happening in Tyler. We want to raise awareness so smaller venues or shows wont slip through the cracks unnoticed. This is our goal. We had a few questions about the direction of Make Tyler Weird. As of now, being we are very new, we are focusing on promoting music and venues. Once we have a solid foundation, and can project where the movement it going, we will move to further categories and areas. We want to be as big as possible, and with your help and support we can achieve this. In the near future, we want to sell t-shirts with simple lettering, unique to Tyler so they will be recognizable from afar. We want someone to see our shirts before even reading them and know they are Make Tyler Weird shirts. Proceeds will go back to the community in the form of free admission to local shows for those who cant afford to go, or giving money to a venue to make tickets half off that night... etc. We arent quite sure yet, but this is something we are looking into. We are looking for a list of places willing to place flyers in their windows, doors, etc. We also need to know of venues that offer free admission. If anyone has anything to add or, has an idea please feel free to let Ben Rambo or myself know. We are open to any suggestions. OUR FIRST SHOW MOB IS TONIGHT AT CLICKS! Tylers own Channel 8, Large Marge, and We Were Wolves will be hitting the stage! Admission is $5, and the show starts at 7. We hope to see everyone there! Lets do this Tyler, Texas!!!!!!!!!!
