Good morning Judy Shoemaker Carolyn Honeycutt Mandy Robertson Sanders Ronni Rena Brasher Joan Weaver and other friends/family of my momma: just a heads up -- some of you know Mom took a bad fall last Friday and has been wheelchair bound since her doc sent home with a torn hamstring. Yesterday the pain became unbearable (thats saying a lot for her!) so i wrestled her into the SUV for a trip to the ER... long story short, she is awaiting surgery for a broken hip and torn hamstring, but we are dealing with a blood clot issue that arose. We got to the Fayette ER at 11 AM yesterday morning, finally got put in an ambulance at 7 PM, headed to the big city, lingered in Triage from 9:30 PM till 3 AM; got her into a room at 4 AM this morning... Lots of stuff i dont understand, but i know this: we have got to be our loved ones advocates, speak up for their rights, and question everything! It is frankly scary how frequently that critical info doesnt seem to get passed from one medical team to another (drug allergies, medical conditions like diabetes)...
